Street Re-Paving

First the workers ripped up about 3 inches of asphalt across the whole width of the street, a special oil is sprayed over the scraped surface so the new asphalt layer will stick to the old layer.
Then the dump trucks with the new asphalt back right up into the spreader with their beds raised so the asphalt pebbles slide down into the top trough and then are mechanically spread in a thick layer which is smoothed by workers with long smooth edged rake like tools.
Then THREE different rollers flatten the asphalt - first the vibrator roller with HOT steam, then the compactor with many narrow rollers, and lastly the finishing rollers (they actually have TWO finishing rollers: a big one for the whole road and a much smaller one to do edges along the driveways)
