Mantlepiece
This idea was unashamedly copied from JKS: Memories are made of this!!! Seeing her neat and beautiful mantlepiece photograph made me look up from the computer to my own. What a contrast!
Here there is a jumble of all sorts of things that have accumulated over the past few days (or weeks .. or maybe months)!
There is a print to the left from Lindisfarne and an Andrew Gardiner watercolour of Croagh Patrick on the right that have both been waiting to go for framing. The clown is normally somewhere else but came down for dusting and never got put back. The roll of sellotape really shouldn't be there at all ... nor should the dice on the right. It is quite unusual to have only three turtles on the shelf. There's a candle holder from Turkey beside a posy of fresh flowers from the garden. It has three pairs of earrings scattered among the other stuff ... I really do need to go around and collect the miscellaneous pairs from all over the house!
Oh, and a postcard with Eliot's picture on it sits just under one of my most valuable possessions - the icon of Saint Nicholas' which was written for me, by a friend, in 2009. She writes amny icons and also painted my liturgical stoles. That's picture for another day.
