A DAY AT THE RACES

One of the delights of working with the older generation is the little stories from the past they recite to you as you hurry about your daily duties, many times the story has already been told but I listen politely anyway, it's the least one can do. Today whilst helping a lady I asked if it was she on the photograph dressed in all her finery. She told me of how she used to be a fashion buyer for one of the London Fashion houses and how she would travel all over Europe to find new collections and fabrics. The photo was taken in the late fourty's at the Paris racing meeting, she still remembers the day well which is more than I will be able to do when I'm ninty four
