Shoe Last

I need a small piece of metal to harden jump rings i am making. Found this shoe last when having a clear out. It's one of the only things i own which belonged to my Father...

Going to try using very soon but it is rather heavy so will still look for a small piece of metal that i can move around easier.

Might even try a scrap yard to see if i can get a piece for a fiver, i know it's around £25 for a jewellers block so hope to save& recycle by going to a scrap yard.
