Sweet dusty-bones

Broom Army

This morning we hit the streets of Manchester.

They showed up in droves - gangs and tribes of young people - many wearing hooded garments, brandishing long wooden poles (with bristles), and doing their worst on the damaged remains and litter from the night before. Youth of Manchester, you did the nation proud.

After cleaning up, we took Boo to the art gallery where he also went all tribal, made himself king of the forest and created all sorts of wonderful things with nothing more than glue, crayons and some bits of paper.

After displaying concerns about taking toddler to clean up, it turned out to be fine. More than fine - wonderful in fact. Council had cleared up most of the dangerous stuff before anyone arrived. There was a real warm community buzz about the place, and it felt great to be able to be there as a family. It really brought folk together. Praying that it all dies down now and that tonight is peaceful. Think we've all had enough.

Also, sorry again for not much commenting. Have a tough and very busy day tomorrow so will hopefully catch up with you all properly on fri/sat.

Peace and goodnight x x
