Game of Two halves
So today we had our first pre-season friendly against Troop Hall. This is sort of a local derby for us, as both teams know each other really and we have a lot of friendly rivaly.
We actually played at a decent ground as well. The opposition manager got us the use of Thurrock FC's pitch, and it was great to play on.
Started off the game on the subs bench and volunteered to run the line for the 1st half. I don't mind doing this, as it's a good excuse to warm up, plus I get to watch the game and find out a little more about how the opposition play and where we're currently lacking. Plus having been a fully qualified referee for several seasons, I know the laws and am unbiased, much to the dismay of my team mates.
We played well, only losing 4-3, but these games have been varied each time we play. We've lost big before, we've won others comfortably and drawn one or two, but mostly we all have fun, taking the piss out of each other.
Now this photo was taken hastily 5 mins before kick off, but it was either or another idea I had, which I think I'll do for tomorrow's blip.
If a man watches three football games in a row, he should be declared legally dead.
