Wing Man @ Dinosaur BBQ (Winner of Wing Crawl '11)
Wing Crawl 2010 originated from a small group of wing-crazy expats on the quest to find the best wings in the Chinese mega-city, Shanghai, . Although not an obvious pick for finding the best chicken wings, Shanghai's sheer size offered a widely varying range of flavor, prices and wing oriented venues. In all, the participants sampled wings from six separate establishments ranging from fast food outlets to sports bars and sit down restaurants. Each establishment was rated on the quality of chicken wings but also quality of sauce, value for the money and over all dining experience. By the end of a long day of eating, judging and taxing all around the city, the winner 1st Wing Crawl may have been a split decision but what was clear was that everyone who was involved went home a winner.
Today we celebrate the 2nd annual "Wing Crawl" in New York City!
This year had everything going for it: the perfect organizer/creator, Tom Greaney (pictured), a diverse line up of wing joints up and down Manhattan (Dino BBQ, Blondies, Down the Hatch and others...), and plenty of hunger and enthusiasm to fuel the crawl through the obstacles of all day eating and drinking. The only catch today it's raining like mad.
