Packed and (nearly) ready...
When my lovely husband finishes work today, we will pile in the car and drive down to Devon to stay with my Mother-in-Law. On Saturday, she will drive us to Ilfracombe and wave us off as we board the M.S. Oldenburg and sail off from the mainland to the beautiful island of Lundy.
Just under a year ago, I sailed out to Lundy for the first time for our honeymoon. We stayed in the lovely Castle Keep North, and on Saturday, we will be back in our honeymoon cottage for a week, ready to celebrate our first wedding anniversary on Sunday.
I am so excited right now. Lundy is a world apart from anywhere else:
no TV, no internet, no phone signal, no cars (just a few tractors and Land Rovers which take the luggage up and down the hill)... they even turn off the electricity at midnight, so as not to run the generators too much.
We have 9 letterboxes left to find (hopefully we'll be coming home with our completion certificate this time!), I have five caches left to find (plus we're hosting a caching event on Thursday) and I didn't even see the north east corner of the island last time we were there, so there'll be lots to do... I took three books last year, read them all and then read everything I was interested in on the bookshelf in the cottage... this year I have six books! I've learnt my lesson!
As we don't get any phone signal on Lundy, I won't be blipping till I'm back. I might blip tomorrow if I get something good with my phone, but if not I'll have to wait till I'm back home to get the photos off the SD card and onto the computer.
