Sri Krishnan Temple
Going for a walk after I get back from a trip is becoming a habit, gets me back into the swing of things; reminds me why I was happy to settle here in Singapore for a while.
The walk took me along Waterloo Street, past the stalls and the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple to the Sri Krishnan Temple. There was a fair number of devotees at both temples leading to a comforting mix of noise and smoke from the joss sticks.
That said, I'm never going to be comfortable enough to photograph people at their devotions, so I blipped a detail from above the temple door. I chose black and white because, although this bit of the temple was only built in the 1980s, I wanted to get the spirit of a place dating back to the 1870s. It reminds me of the old travel pictures I used to see in the Sunday papers before the days of colour suppliments.
