Apple Reaping

Last April I pictured blossom on the one and only apple tree in the backyard.

For many years we could reap 8-10 kg (17-22 pounds) of apples a year. But this very year things went not so well ...

... In spite I never sat under the apple tree with nobody else but me ... less blossom and in the end (today) only 6 normal apples and 1 small one.

Well, one could live with that. But all apples are damaged! Not from insects, we learned. Do you remember this fellow? There are a lot of tits now in the backyard. All young and hungry and looking for insects. Anywhere. Also in the apple tree. Picking the insects from the fruits they cause a lot of damage ... Today we reaped all apples ... Seven, like I said before.

We'll eat them, slowly, bit by bit, thinking back in melancholy at those rich reaping times, even dip some juicy fresh pieces in sweet fluid chocolate ... In other words ... we'll celebrate them ... ;))
