No winners

I went to court for the 6th time today (over four and a half years) in an attempt to get a financial settlement as part of my divorce. I haven't spoken about it here very much as it is personal, painful and there are no winners.

My wife and I have different views of the situation and it really needs a legal judgement to settle - however the cost involved in getting that judgement is far outweighing the benefit to either party.

Today we were cajoled into seeking a compromise. To be honest, I didn't need much persuading even if it meant writing off quite a bit of money in order to get out of this legal quagmire. My wife seems to have agreed to the compromise - we have until the 23rd August to get the terms agreed in writing.

There is many a slip between cup and lip however ....
