Dinant...by night

C sat next to the fading embers of this evening's barbecue. We are in Dinant in the south of Belgium, en route to Wiesbaden. But next stop, Lorelei on the banks of the Rhine, tomorrow night.

Exploratory venture in to Dinant this afternoon, with a Coup Jaques (mocha, choc and vanilla ice-cream with caramel and chantilly) shared between us. Had a stomp up the steps to the citadelle to work off the afternoon's excesses but cheated and caught the telepherique down. I donned the wetsuit for a swim in the very lovely river, much to the bemusement of the fisherfolk. Very pleasant apart from the cut ankle - a result of getting snagged on a fisherman's line/hook, I think.

By the way, my car now has nipples. :-)
