Cormorants at Anacortes Ferry Landing

We spent the day in the car heading back to the San Juan Islands in Washington state USA...back for more boating! After we had driven on the ferry we headed up to enjoy the beer and view on the upper decks...that is when I spotted the cormorants. I loved watching all of the babies with their soft fluffy feathers...waiting for their parents to bring them food. They are perched on the ferry pilings eagerly awaiting their next meal...believe me they are not sitting still, instead they are almost shivering. The parents look almost a shiny jet black...just beautiful
