Wellington Museum, Waterloo, Brussels
I didn't have to go into work today as it was a 'free' day to sort out bits and pieces, such as visiting our commune offices to change my status on my identity card. This is a very long winded process and requires a tonne of paperwork, meetings etc. I also have to change the data with regards to our children as I am the oldest in the relationship! All because I dared to get a job. There are rules and regulations for just about everything here. And there is still no government in place.
It turned out that I didn't have to do the above today, so we had a potter around Waterloo which we really like. As D was at the creche screaming trying to settle in, we took the opportunity to visit The Wellington Museum to find out more about the battle of Waterloo in 1815, where Napoleon was defeated. The museum is situated in an old inn where The Duke of Wellington installed his headquarters a few days before the battle took place. We found it really interesting but not sure O was so keen, although she did find some good hiding places!
