Cloudy Day

I got up early this morning to get ready for work, today. I haven't had to do that in a long time. The nice thing about being a teacher, and primarily teaching online classes during the summer, is that you get to set your own schedule for the most part during the summer. Today, however, I had to go in bright and early as new students are starting to arrive and need to be registered for classes.

This afternoon I went to lunch with my old college roommate, Tree, who is in town for the week. This was followed by a trip to the V-E-T for Jonny and Luigi. Jonny isn't a fan of his pet carrier at all and hates to travel in cars. You would be convinced I was torturing the poor cat if you heard him on the ride there. Tree was in charge of Luigi, which if you can handle his hyper, flailing legs trying to squirm around and a tongue trying to lick your face, isn't all that bad. We get to the vet and the two animals personalities completely change. Luigi goes first and you would think the vet was trying to murder him, rather then simply update his shots. After calling in for reinforcements, shots were finally given. Jonny's turn next. The vet opens the carrier, Jonny nicely walks out on his own and lays down. The vet does his thing, Jonny doesn't even flinch or make a peep. The vet turns him around and says "Okay, back into your carrier" and Jonny nicely walks into the carrier and lays down. We get back in the car to go home and personalities switch back again. Luigi is nicely laying in Tree's lap and Jonny meowing as loud as possible. Java gets her turn on Monday, so we'll see how that goes.

On the way back to the house, a storm was starting to roll in to the north of us. I pulled over to the side of the road and grabbed my compact camera took two blips and jumped back in the car before someone heard Jonny and turned me in for animal cruelty!

Might go out for drinks tonight with Tree and her boyfriend. My husband has to work in the morning, so we'll see if he's up to it. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
