Matt

This is my friend Matt, possibly the only friend of mine to have had an actual book published. And there was a lovely event for it today at Word Power books on West Nicholson Street. A few folk there that I knew from my Edinburgh International Film Festival days and we finally got to meet Matt's daughter (age 3 months and counting, and she shares a birthday with my youngest daughter too). Great to see them all.

Couple of other cultural activities, namely the Ingrid Calame exhibition at the Fruitmarket and Super 8 at the Cameo. The former featured a very appealing concept with mixed results for me (the drawings that looked like maps were wonderful, the colour abstractions less so) and the latter, well, it was all good fun and resembled many of the movies of your youth but with better special effects.

With babysitters on tap this weekend, it just seems plain rude not to use them.

Music, summat I think Matt would like, that's a good enough reason for me.
