OSWALD AT WORK

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you... Oswald! (pause for wild applause)

Ozzie is my friend, and I love him. He is a boon to the lazy sloven busy working woman. He vacuums my carpets while I get on with interesting stuff. He sings with cheerful enthusiasm when I start him off, and he chuckles with pride in a job well done when he takes himself back to his charging dock at the end of his task. If he gets stuck he calls out sadly, and sometimes his inner alien tells me to clean his sensors or his brushes. When he appeared to be dying a few months ago, I had a heavy heart and gloom reigned, but a bit of googling and a new battery restored peace and sanity to the home. I have to admit he's a completely unreconstructed Dalek when it comes to the stairs, though, and I have to do them myself.

The carpet also is a boon. It was left by the cowboys nice people from whom I bought the house 10 years ago, and I meant to replace it pretty quickly, but it's wonderful for hiding the dirt in between Ozzie's forays.

And yes, sadly, I do talk to him.
