Lee ho!

Today J. and I went sailing with sister and brother-in-law and an acquainted pro-sailer. We all had a bit of experience, but he made us understand how it actually works. At the end of the day we actually knew how to tack, gybe, luff up and bear away. The terminology was hilarious, especially the commands (which are not to be fooled around with though!!): Klaar om te wenden? Ree! We wondered what this would be in English and now I had to look it up for all you curious foreigners. The translation is probably even better:

Ready to tack? Lee ho!

By the way, it struck us that in 6 weeks we've spent 3 Saturdays on the water. Not that I have a problem with that, but it's definitely not a representative number for me! Here are 9 July and 30 July.
