Was It Really So Long Ago

Chichester Presents: Slim Lightfoot

If you're a camper and looking to spend time in the woods, look no further than the Graffham Camping and Caravanning Club site. Some of the smaller pitches were literally right in the woods, accessible only on foot along winding tracks.

Our larger pitch was a little too small for the tent we'd brought and on stony ground, which is never a good accompaniment to a tent groundsheet.

We spent the weekend at Graffham, venturing to Chichester on Saturday. The highlights of the visit had to be:

1. Suddenly finding all the tables at the Buttery reserved when our group of thirteen arrived,

2. The Cathedral (always love a good Cathedral with its windows and gothic architecture)

3. The Swallow Bakery. The ladies spent quite some time discussing how our local small town could be enhanced by a cake shop.

Back at the campsite, Victor Meldrew from the caravan opposite, was checking the distance between tents to check the regulation 6m was not being infringed.

Not the most welcoming of camp sites, not the most organised and not the most dry, but all round, a great weekend with friends.
