a wee bit in my shoes...

Our stories

This typewriter sits in my hall and sometimes I think of it's journey and the 'stories' which perhaps a few have typed from it..
Today I watched the movie 'Freedom Writers'. It is based on a true story about a teacher, Mrs G, who teaches at a high school in Long Beach, LA. The film tells the story of young people who are still affected by riots, racism etc but through the perseverance of Mrs G (and reading Anne Frank), they all write their own stories of their lives within a journal. These journals were then published as 'Freedom Writers'. I'm not saying any more about the film except watch it!!
I have been challenged today as a youth worker because I want to be an influence on young people and make an impact with each one I meet. I want to have determination and perseverance no matter what comes my way.
I am so thankful that God blessed me with a burden for young people and especially 'those'.
I hope in years to come, when people read my 'story', they too will be encouraged and inspired :)
