Crazy Garden!

This garden is just past the Watermill in Blair Atholl. It's been created either side of the burn and does not seem to be land that belongs to the houses backing on to it but, judging by their front gardens, one or more of the residents looks after it. It has numerous plants, Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, a shed titled the 'Seldom Inn', garden seats, bridges & ornaments. There's a collecting box for an animal charity - we contributed.

We then set off on a cycle ride, despite the weather looking a bit ominous. We crossed the road and went into the grounds of Blair Castle. We explained to the man on the gate that we intended to cycle through and he waived the £5 charge (per person!). It was several km to Struan, past a unique triple bridge with the river at the bottom, crossed by the road then the railway on top. Then we continued to Old Struan, crossed our fingers and attempted to return to Blair Atholl on the south side of the A9 following the tracks shown on the OS map. After many wet and muddy hours, some spent wading through muddy cow wallows, we made it back. The route involved crossing the busy A9 twice, pushing our bikes. I would not want to repeat the experience!!

Straight into the shower when we got back, then into the warm and cosy pub again for dinner ;-)
