Chironomid
Just back from a run on my mountain bike round the Loch Leven trail.
Today's blip is of an obelisk at the start of the trail depicting a chironomid - aka a Midge - thankfully not life size. Anyone who's spent any time near a body of water anywhere in Scotland will be familiar with this creature, and after my ride today, I can confirm that the species is alive and kicking (or should that be biting?)
