Mega ride

Every year Plymouth holds a 'mega ride' when thousands of motor bikes ride a route from the outskirts of the city to the Hoe in the city centre. All entrants pay a fee and the money raised goes to charities.

It's great to watch as you see all sorts from teens on their scooters to rufty, tufty bikers on their low-riders.

I'm not sure why but I always have to fight back the tears when I hear the roar and see the bikes,maybe because I dislike this city and this is one of the few times when I'm actually proud of where we live.

I actually preferred this shot but you needed to see the 'coming' shot for the 'going' shot to make sense.

I shall stop waffling now (I blame the wine-on-an-empty-stomach) as I need to eat and then get on with knitting a blanket for 'Baby Cyril' (I'll explain that one another day! ;) )
