Best viewed pretty faced *Large*

I was itching to get the macro out, it was windy of course, the sun kept disappearing & the small white butterflies were flighty, so this is not entirely in focus... but it's the first time I've attempted a butterfly detail as I usually can't help but photograph the rest of the butterfly as well!

Another contender was this bumble bee on the scabious which could have gone with the same title!

Warmer day today, sunshine here & there, but not lovely hot Summer days as August should be. I saw my first painted lady butterfly which flew over not wanting to have a break for a photograph! Small copper butterflies were around, but not yet one common blue, which is very worrying, as this time last year the garden was literally plastered in them!

As for Lil' Larry - no sign I'm afraid :(
