Caerlaverock

A proper castle, with a moat and everything. Personally I'd never heard of the place until yesterday and again what an oversight. As we drove from Wigtown to Dumfries I was amazed at some of the places we saw, I'll be back down here for a proper explore.

Anyway it had a tea room, adventure playground and a trebuchet, what more do you want.

Aerial photo here. Caerlaverock, it's even got a cool name, now on my top ten castles list. Oh aye and I was woken by cows munching over the fence from the tent. Lying half asleep wandering what the hell that noise is an experience itself, I've woken to the sound of many things but not a cow munching.......
