Rusty

Grim determination got me up and out at 6am on my bike.
That's the best time to cycle around Edinburgh, especially when the city is gridlocked with traffic later on.
The sun was up and out too, and only the early commuters broke the peace.

From Braid Hills Road the city was laid out to the north, misty behind the shadowed fairways of Craigmillar Park golf course and with a backdrop of the brooding crags of Arthur's seat . To the south the greens of Braid Hills Golf course were bright in the sun with the odd rabbit enjoying an early breakfast

The sun was low enough in the east to strike the rusty railings at the side of the road, making them shine unnaturally red.

The sun has all but gone now and with it a degree of warmth, but there are bodies settling down on the Meadows, braving a chilly breeze, to have picnics

However, I have an appointment this afternoon with my premier friend o.m.t's, and the weather will be of no consequence in the putting of the world to rights.
