Grasses Going Back to Seed
Fall is already showing up hre in southeastern North Carolina. The cherry trees are dropping their leaves and some of the plants are going back to seed. Among them are some of our large, ornamental grasses.
I like the shape and intricacy of this seed head from one of the tall grasses. The grass itself, is about 7 feet tall and provides a beautiful spray for many months starting around April. This seed head is probably less than two inches in length. The fast that is it curled up makes it look even cooler to me.
This image is a stacked composition of 14 shots. Even at 14 I missed some focal points.
Loogks good humongous.
