I Survived the Warrior Dash!!

Drove up to Sam's house yesterday with Liz because we were leaving in the morning (the three of us and Mel) for the Warrior Dash upstate at Windham Mountain.

I had heard about the Warrior Dash during the school year from my uncle who ran in it last year and decided that if I was gonna do any 5K it was gonna be this one because it was more fun than serious and it has obstacles so I wouldn't get bored. I mentioned it at school and Sam said he'd do it with me, so we left the house at 8:30 AM to head to the mountain--and stopped at Dunkin Doughnuts for ever because they were slow. We got to the mountain, and got online to be bused to the course. It was crazy! There were people everywhere and a huge pile of shoes as well that people donated to be recycled after they ran.

The course started off on an uphill incline that was so steep, walking it burned our calves...so that's what we did. Oops..
There were a variety of obstacles that we had to get through including climbing through an old car yard, swimming through a pond full of mud, jumping over wire, crawling through the mud under barbed wire, and a bunch of different rope/climbing obstacles. It was a really great experience that I definitely want to take part in again next year! So worth it and we got medals, t-shirts, and warrior helmets to bring home, too!

After we finished we were filthy, all covered in mud. It was great! Hahahahaha

Sam is in the picture about to go down in the mud and I am right in front of him. You can see my in the bright yellow/gray. This was the last obstacle before the finish: crawling through the mud under barbed wire. The one right before it was jumping over fire.
