Clearing snow
Another 15-20cm of snow overnight.
I ventured out early to capture my neighbourhood before the rhythm of life took away the wonder. I have many picture postcards but this is my pick.
This much snow is unusual for us and we grind to a halt quickly. Why invest in equipment that may only be used once every 10 years? Like so much else in my city guys with big equipment keep us ticking along and help make things better.
So here's to all those guys in Christchurch and other parts of NZ who have worked tirelessly to keep roads clear and power connected.
Thank you.
The Fur Child remains deeply unimpressed. Yesterday I carried him outside and gently placed him in the snow. He promptly fell through up to his chest and undercarriage. Very offensive apparently ;-) I held him as a car went past towing a couple of kids and an adult on a sit-on plastic kayak. The Fur Child watched it all with a priceless expression on his face as he struggled to comprehend his white world.
