Mealworms make a good meal ...
... if you're a bird that is! Don't fancy trying them myself! It took the Starlings a while to find them this morning and Blackie (looking a little windswept) in that photo, was the first to the bowl and Brownie made a very brief visit too. I can't believe how quick the young Starlings are growing up! Their adult feathers are now coming through nicely, some more advanced than others. And a Red Admiral has been flying round the garden all morning making me think of Autumn for some reason.
This will be my last blip for a while as tomorrow I'm away on holiday to York for a few days with friends and then at the weekend we are off to meet more friends at the British Birdwatching Fair at Rutland. It's going to be a hectic but exciting holiday and I'm looking forward to it immensely!
