Young couple get a pre-wedding blacking

Here is one you don't see very often. Usually everyone's too busy throwing rubbish at them, cheering and blowing their car horns. I was leaning out of my office window. Laura works here as a waitress this season. Her fiance is enduring the blacking sitting beside her and gripping the side of the truck.

Some of those slops are over a fortnight old so I guess a bit smelly. Up here it is a tradition to Black young couples before they tie the knot. Really, I suppose, we all wish them well, every happiness, success and good fortune.

If they can endure this together then they can endure everything that life can throw at them.
