Innocence on grime

Before driving up to Norfolk, we met our friend Charlotte (she of the former blue hair and now a blazing redhead) for a quick lunch at Tayyabs, a terrific Pakistani restaurant in Whitechapel.

A quick dash back to Brick Lane after lunch to stock up on spices and shoot more of the wonderful street art on the side streets. I was struck by the haunting beauty of this child's face. If anyone knows who painted it, please let me know.

If you want a first rate Asian meal, avoid the tourist traps on Brick Lane and head over to Tayyabs on Fieldgate Street. It's the real thing. Thanks to Maureen and MiMi who recommended it.
