A Tale of Two Cities
Yes, yes I know, very predictable. Back in Glasgow today and was drawn to George Square like a moth to a flame. Unless you have been locked in your toilet for the last few days, it is impossible to avoid the news that Brad, Angelina and all the kids have arrived in Glasgow to film his new movie, World War Z.
Today was the first day of filming and I wanted to pop along to see how the 'set' had developed since Monday A lot as it turns out, new streets, SWAT vans, signs, flags, hot dog vendors, a new court building (!) and the City Chambers has been turned into a five star hotel! We've even got a new record shop, Algonquin Record Exchange, on the street formerly known as South Frederick Street! It doesn't look as good as FOPP to be fair.
I took loads - and I mean loads - of photos of the aforementioned things, but I wasn't alone. There were hundreds of people with cameras and smart phones, all snapping away. I was looking at them wondering if any were fellow blippers. What a difference a 6 weeks makes!
This might seem a bit of an odd choice but I just like the fact that Glasgow is still undergoing its transformation - or Phillyfication if you like.
So far, it seems the nosey parkers like me are being kept well away from the filming but an office worker in the Square did get some shots of Bradley arriving on to the set this morning - well done you, whoever you are!
