Autumn Days
Lots of autumnal blips today, which fits with the fact that I have been working at home today, the sunshine pouring in through the open back door. And my feet - sockless and mostly shoeless since May - firmly in my fab Hebridean knitted slippers. They are getting a bit thin in places, maybe I should see if I can replace them when I'm in Stornoway next week...
All made me think of this song that we sang every autumn term at primary school.
"Autumn days, when the grass is jewelled,
And the silk inside a chestnut shell,
Jet planes meeting in the air to be refuelled,
All these things I love so well.
So I mustn't forget,
No, I mustn't forget
To say a great big thank you
I mustn't forget."
