Seaweed
If you'll pardon the expression I have a weather beaten old barometer on my balcony. It is probably about as accurate as having a piece of seaweed hanging off the railing but it looks a little more attractive. I'd actually just been into the garden photographing some little snowdrops and on the way back from the area I call "New Mexico" (It's way down south, near where the chicken run is and takes about five days hiking to get there. Only kidding, it takes about two days). Anyway I noticed the old barometer, not having even glanced at it for weeks, and it looked pretty optimistic after the last couple of months of rain. Could mean spring is around corner.
