Following on from an earlier blip, this is an homage to my former primary school teacher, Mr. Thomas Mc'Caffrey. I always visit Brenda's bookstall, and I can't remember coming away without something of interest. When I asked Brenda if she would mind me taking a pic, she said fire away. A pair of ladies were trawling through some novels and asked me if I had spotted a first edition. Had a chat with them, and told them about the gaffer, then quite a few joined in the discussion about the joy that can be had from books. I noticed some really interesting tomes on my go round the full stall, however when I returned to where I wanted to take a shot, some of the more interesting books had already been bought. Brenda's clientele is divers or diverse, which would probably equally apply. The little old lady with a good Catherine Cookson. I spotted some barristers in semi-mufti similarly scavenging and picking up armfuls, book dealers and bookworms like myself. I suppose the tanned Mr. Dickinson would say "cheap as chips" something for everyone, and only 50p, unless it's a coffee table type book, which might stretch to £1. Amongst them was a very early Ian Fleming, For your eyes only. I devoured James Bond, both books and films. BTW I saw Joanna Lumley on the repeated programme of her journey along the Nile, when a gentleman from I can't remember where, recognised her as a former Bond girl. I think she almost blushed. How sweet of the English rose.
Adios.
