So back to the 'Jing now, and what better way to celebrate than a little visit to the Crab Island water park and Beijing International Beer Festival.

Yet another completely surreal experience- 3 hangars filled with tables and benches and a microbrewery, and not a person in sight. A looping rollercoaster that caused immense pain. A log flume called 'Scoliosis Suring' (we assumed someone had tried to translate 'Backbender' or something more-fun sounding, and failed). A fake beach with water and a wave machine. A huge lotus pond which you could cross by wooden bridge, net, or- as this chap is doing- narrow pole. Anywhere else this would be a health and safety nightmare of gigantic proportions, but here, nah...
