The promise of jam tomorrow

Today we went blackberry picking. Theres a spot I know just outside the city centre where I've picked blackberries for years between the Ship canal & the bridgewater canal, no-one else ever seems to bother with them and I've made as much as 50lb of jam in the past from a few hours picking. Anyhow for some reason a huge swath of this area has been chopped down and this year the bushes were few and far between. But we found enough & brought them home.

heres my son helping out. About 8lb of jam in all. Which ain't too bad.
