Finally blooming...

Well, it's about time.... the crepe myrtle (Lagerstoemia) is finally blooming :) I have seen so many beautiful blooms of other crepe myrtles this summer. Mine happens to be a late summer bloomer. One bloom I noticed, had quite a bit of damage from the Japanese beetles, but for the most part they had weathered that storm o.k....

There's much ado about how one trims these trees. I'm planning on letting it grow as it is. I'll not be accused of crepe murder after it has been trimmed :D
