Slated

We had to collect pieces of slate for an assignment as part of our Art weekend. I found this piece but when I cleaned it I thought the colours in it were so beautiful I could not bring myself to paint over them. So I just put a thin coat of varnish on it. It almost echoes the shape of the mountains in the area where we paint.
