Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

This has been a lovely slow relaxed "do nothing" day and we've enjoyed it immensely.

Workmen were at the neighbor's house before 7:00 a.m. to build a patio cover, so that brought us a little too much early noise, but we were okay and now the new patio cover is complete and I peeked over the fence and it looks quite nice.

When the photos came tumbling out of my camera this evening, I had no energy to decide which photo was the winner for today, so I took the three that I liked the best, but also thought that not one of them alone was all that worthy, so these three angles of my day sparked my interest.

The pups usually eat dinner in the kitchen, but tonight we were going to eat outdoors so they ate dinner on the backyard patio with us. Chloe is white; Max is black; and Mitzi is carmel. We have a rainbow of dogs! Mr. Fun barbecued chicken and grilled veggies while I made a salad and toasted garlic bread. It was delicious and the pups thought it smelled much better than their kibble.

The blossom is from my famous yellow rose bush that produces the most beautiful flowers. Year round it produces flowers. Is that normal? Please tell me "yes." If we have one more abnormal thing here it will take me over the edge.

Then for the grand finale the few little puffs of clouds that we could see from the backyard dining table began to glow and that was the signal to walk through the house and out the front door. Off in the distance over Mt. Baldy the mass of cloud was blushing. When I couldn't capture it, I handed the camera to Mr. Fun and he did! He's so smart.

One productive thing we did today was continue adding to my summer soundtrack. Mr. Fun is having fun surprising me with tunes that he adds to it. So this after noon he said, "I've got a surprise for you!" and put the iPod on the player, dialed in the tune, turned up the volume, and we danced (we knew no one was watching). No one except the three dogs who went crazy because they didn't know what we were doing.

What a fun day this has been. I'd like to order up another month of days just like this one. Could someone tell me where to place my order?

Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun, and Chloe, Max, & Mitzi), aka Carol
