New traintracks
Went out into town this morning to buy some bits and pieces, ended up buying a trainset! Ben was pleased. He and his grandma played with it while I chatted to Steve on Skype, until Grandma fell asleep on the floor and Ben decided it was time to have a snooze as well and demonstrated this by clambering up and generally making a nuisance of himself until I gave in and said 'bye to Steve!
The journey up was pretty good, all things considered. Set off at 7.30pm eventually. Steve and Ben nearly had me crying even before I'd said goodbye to Steve, Ben telling Steve he loved him, and Steve saying he'd miss Ben, and Ben saying that Daddy would be sad because Ben wasn't there, and would Daddy cry? Daddy said yes he probably would a little bit. And Ben said he missed Daddy too. Had me proper welling up!
Stopped at Pease Pottage for a comfort break and also to pump the tyres up and fill the water tank up. Ben wouldn't wear his sandals to go into the services so I dug his slippers out of the boot, he seemed happy with that. Then we chatted until we got to the M25 - the road surface makes talking in the car impossible and Ben was getting tired too so he was barely making sense, let alone speaking loud enough to be hear. We stopped at the first services on the M40 and I discovered all he wanted was his slippers taking off and his chair tipping back so he could go to sleep!
Nothing to report from there on, plain sailing pretty much all the way to mum and dad's house. Arrived midnight almost on the dot. Dad got Ben out of the car and Ben settled into his shoulders for a cuddle, telling him it had got dark and so Ben had gone to sleep in the car because it was dark. But it wasn't raining!
Unloaded, and then dad suggested we get my laptop hooked up to the wifi to make sure it worked.
And then we thought we'd managed to break the wifi.
So we went to bed... (1am!)
Thankfully in the morning I found a note with the correct log-in and password and it all works again!! Still haven't managed to turn the tv on though.
Ben has been nappy-free again today, except for our walk into town, and has made me proud by not having any accidents AND taking himself off to the potty all the time AND doing a big poo on said potty. Big potty is good thing. Think I'll give him a few days to settle in here before we even think of trying pants again...
Teatime soon. :o) And an early night for all, hopefully. Am shattered! Should've had a nap with Ben really but having got those photographs I was more than a little eager to have a play with them!
