A little blue

We are home. The only photos I have taken today have been via my iPod on the hipstamatic app - I have edited to crop the border, but I felt that this picture captured how James and I were feeling this morning about leaving and coming home.

I didn't sleep well, having got into bed and then developed a blinder of a headache, which was not alcohol related before anyone suggests it was. I had packed, so I had no painkillers so I was not in a happy place when I got up.

Leaving was made all the more difficult by going for breakfast at Kellie's house, celebrating J's 40th birthday with him, with full English and the company of almost everyone from the estate as well. Leaving was difficult, with hugs, tears that were being held back and a deep sense of not wanting to go. That's never happened before - I've normally been ready to come home.

So James, looking out of the window - his body language kind of says it all.

However, the travelling was without adventure. The flight was great, left early, landed early. A lovely little boy and his family on the row in front kept us entertained and made us smile as he played "peep-o" with us for half of the journey.

We got home around 3, have unpacked, done the shopping and managed to cook a healthy tea as well. James has gone off to a friend's house for a bit, but not for long. We are all knackered and we need early nights in our own beds!

The lizard is home - Pete and Liz have done a cracking job of taking care of him. In fact, I would go so far as to say that Carlos is looking distinctly cheesed off that he is back home. I suspect he has been spoiled somewhat!!!

So that's it. Back to normal. It was a fabulous holiday made all the better for family and friends being there with us.

Big thanks to Mum and Roy for putting up with us, feeding us, negotiating startingly good discounts at the restaurants we ate in and for being our taxi service!
