Padstow
A favourite childhood haunt - I just love this place and it has definitely retained its character and was worth the journey from North Devon.
The main purpose of travelling to Cornwall was so that the boys (big and small) could go go-karting near Newquay. They had a fantastic time on what turned out to be the hottest day of the week. It was a shame about the queuing time (about an hour for a ten minute ride) and the wasps, but this was declared the best track they'd ever been on.
We then found a stunning beach for a play, before travelling to Padstow and fish and chips by the harbour. This was one of my favourite days of the holiday and I'm sure one the boys will remember when they are adults.
