ROBINSON CRUSOE WAS NOT ALONE ON ARENA BLANCA

Or White Beach to the locals.
As Bioko island is a volcanic island all of the beaches bar this one are black volcanic ash.
To be honest the beach looks man made with building sand.
After 18 month on this project i had to go to the freeport on the other side of the island about 1 hours drive over the mountain through the jungle.
Sounds good but it was not Indiana Jones stuff the road was like chalk and cheese to ours in Scotland. Having said that the Scots road was that swiss cheese full of holes.
It was another day with grey overcast sky which didnt help the look of the sea or sky.
I had to choose this picture as it was the only one that showed off the beach minus the loads of litter the locals leave after their weekend on the piss... rubbish and beer cans everywhere.
This of course explain the sight of at least 6 car wrecks by the side of the road which have accumulated over the months. Drink Driving is a big problem on the island.
