The proof is in the jam

I messaged my oldest friend today to say that I felt very grown up, because I was making jam.

She replied "Hope the jam is good - if it isn't then you're not really grown up".

Having now made and decanted the jam I am left with mixed feelings about whether I want it to turn out good or bad.

I'm sure it's possible to be good at jam making in an un-grown-up kind of a way.

I was listening to rap music when I made it and the word 'plums' makes me snigger, I think this helps my predicament.
