Floatsam

There were lots of these in the air today, drifting over the wall from the adjacent field and in through my open windows. They looked so pretty in the late afternoon light that I couldn't resist a trip with the kids to take a look, camera in hand. These ones were just detaching to begin their journey.

The field is an overgrown meadow that, should the developers get their way, will be buried beneath 75 new homes, in addition to the 460 planned for the other surrounding fields. Such a shame...
