Sneak Preview

Today and tomorrow, Washington's newest memorial -- the Martin Luther King memorial -- is open to Washingtonians and lucky visitors, before it closes again until its official dedication on Sunday.

I went to have a look and it is very impressive. It is the first memorial on the Washington Mall to pay tribute to an African-American and a non-president. It is also the tallest of all the status, standing at 30ft. The location is superb, facing out onto the Tidal Basin and looking across at another one of my favorite places, the Jefferson Memorial.
