Urbanesque

Kreva - Middle Game ft. Mummy-D

I love the streets. They're so organic and beautiful. Why? How is this possible you ask? Well, I believe that urban sprawl is a natural occurrence; a reflection of human creativity.

A student in my cinema studies class, back in the day, was ranting at how ugly cinemas and shopping malls are. Fair enough, but she went on to complain about urban sprawls and that everyone should be living in houses with gardens, less cars an so forth.

It annoyed me a lot. Now, I don't particularly like shopping malls and stuff like that but they require much more thought than expected. As such, the urban sprawl developed itself through human fruition. It took people to create a solution to a problem. As time changes, so do the needs for new solutions, as do the people and the environments that house them.

Were we all to live in lovely houses with gardens, there probably wouldn't be a lot of room to live comfortably. One person would live on a hill, while another in the middle of a rainforest (which would probably have to be knocked down to be livable). It'd probably take ages to drive to work. Buses, trains? No, it's all part of urban sprawl. You should take a bike to work. Try being a hardcore environmental enthusiast now! :P

Anyway, I'm not saying that urban areas are better than the countryside or anything like that, and such places have their fair share of massive problems like pollution and such, but as time goes by so do new solutions and in this progressive fashion, it continues to grow organically. Does this make sense?

Well, whenever I see streets, I just think, "How beautiful!"
