You ain't close enough!

One of the things I like about these compact cameras is that they usually have great macro capabilities. Of course, sometimes the huge dOF might be a problem, if you'd like to see some creamy bokeh also.

I was organizing my closet today, and found an old Sonia close-up lens. Just for fun, I tried it with my new Canon - just put the filter in front of the lens and handhold it while I took the shot. It really gives a bigger magnification, and I was surprised how well it actually worked.

Hmmm... wonder if I have any IR filters left over...
